Our New Website: How BuildSites Built It, and What It Does for You
Our new website went live at luxury-flooring.ca on September 30, 2026, designed and built from scratch by BuildSites, a web design studio for small businesses in Toronto, the GTA and Montréal. We wanted a site that loads fast on a phone, answers the questions homeowners ask us every week, and gets your quote request to our office without a single step lost.
This post walks through what we asked for, how the site works behind the scenes, and what it changes for you when you plan a new floor or a staircase with us.
Why did we rebuild our website?
Most of our customers find us on a phone, often standing in the room they want to change. They want three things in the first minute: proof that we do good work, a sense of what the job involves, and an easy way to ask for a price. We wanted all three within reach from the first screen.
We also wanted our own words on every page. Each service page, each city page and each guide on our blog now explains our work the way we explain it at a measure: which floor suits which room, what we check before we start, and what you can expect on install day.
What did we ask BuildSites to build?
We gave BuildSites our brand kit (logo, colours and the Jost typeface) and photos from our own jobs. Here is what the site covers today:
| Part of the site | What it does for you |
|---|---|
| Seven service pages | Hardwood, laminate, vinyl, tile, refinishing, staircases and herringbone, each with the steps we follow and answers to common questions |
| Commercial page | Floors for offices, shops and shared building spaces |
| Seven city pages | North York, Markham, Mississauga, Richmond Hill, Vaughan, Brampton and Oakville, written around the homes in each area |
| Our Work gallery | Photos of floors and stairs from our own projects, sorted by floor type |
| Quote form and estimator | Two ways to send us your project, both delivered to our inbox |
| Cost guide | What shapes the price of a flooring job, so a written quote holds no surprises |
| Blog | Guides on choosing, comparing and planning a floor, written for GTA homes |
BuildSites hand-coded the site rather than starting from a template or a page builder. Every page carries its own title, description and share image, and the menu and footer sit in the page itself, so search engines read them the moment a page loads.
How fast is the new site?
Speed matters most on a phone with one bar of signal in a basement. The team kept each page light: photos load as compressed WebP files, images lower on the page wait until you scroll toward them, and each image has its size set in advance, so the text doesn’t jump around while the page loads. Google measures that last point as layout shift, one of its Core Web Vitals, and our pages score close to zero.
The menu, phone number and Get a Free Quote button show on first paint, with no fade-in or delay. A typical guide on our blog, photos included, comes in well under a megabyte.
How does the site work on a phone?
BuildSites designed every page for a phone first, then scaled it up for a laptop. Buttons sit where your thumb reaches them, the phone number opens your dialler with one tap, and forms use large text fields, so your phone doesn’t zoom in while you type.
The menu folds into a single button, and the services list opens inside it, so you can jump from our staircase renovation page to the hardwood page without scrolling back to the top.
How does a quote request reach us?
When you send the quote form or finish the estimator, the details go straight to our office email, with your name, phone number, rooms and timing laid out in one table. We reply within one business day. If you add your email address, we can reply to you from the same message.
The forms filter out automated spam on their own, so your request doesn’t get buried under junk. The success message appears only after your details have reached us, so you never see “sent” when something went wrong. If a problem does stop a form, it shows our phone number in its place.
Not sure what to put in the form? Our guide on getting an accurate flooring quote online lists the details that help us most.
What can you see on the Our Work page?
The gallery of our flooring and stair projects sorts photos by floor type: hardwood, engineered, herringbone and chevron, laminate, vinyl, stairs and trim. Tap a photo to see it larger.
Six of our service pages also carry before-and-after sliders, so you can drag a handle across a room and compare the old floor with the new one.
How does the site help people find us?
Someone in Vaughan searching for stair work and someone in a Mississauga tower searching for condo flooring need different answers. The city pages speak to the homes in each area, such as walkout basements and curved stairs in Richmond Hill, and the service pages each answer one kind of job.
Behind the scenes, each page tells search engines what it covers, our address and opening hours, and which questions it answers. The blog adds guides people search before they hire, such as how to vet a flooring contractor in the GTA.
What did BuildSites check before launch?
Before the site went live, the BuildSites team ran the same checks on every page, on a laptop and on a phone-sized screen:
- Every link works. No menu item, button or guide points to a missing page.
- Every form delivers. Test requests went through the quote form, the estimator, the contact form and the hiring form, and each one arrived in our inbox.
- Every page has one clear heading and its own title and description, so search results show the right words.
- No errors in the browser. Pages load with nothing broken in the background.
- Every photo has a description for screen readers, and the site respects the setting some visitors use to reduce motion.
The same checks run again each time we add a guide or change a page, before the update goes live.
How to use the site, start to finish
- Pick your floor. Read the service page for the floor you have in mind, or a comparison guide on the blog.
- Look at real jobs. Filter the Our Work gallery by floor type.
- Check what affects the price. The cost guide explains the factors behind every quote.
- Send your project. Use the quote form, or answer four short steps in the online estimator.
- Hear back. We reply within one business day to book a free in-home measure.
- Get it in writing. After the measure, you receive a written quote before any work starts.
Before the measure, our checklist on how to prepare for a flooring measure helps you get the most out of the visit.
Website questions
Who built the Luxury Flooring website?
BuildSites designed and built it, and it went live on September 30, 2026. We supplied the brand and the photos of our own projects.
Can I request a flooring quote online?
Yes. Send the quote form or finish the estimator. Your request reaches our office email, and we reply within one business day to book a free in-home measure.
Does the estimator give me a price?
The estimator collects the rooms, size, material and timing of your project so we can follow up with the right questions. The price comes in a written quote after we measure your home.
What happens to the details I send?
We use them to answer your request and plan your project. Our privacy policy explains what we collect and how to reach us about it.
Where can I see floors you have installed?
The Our Work page shows photos from our own projects, sorted by floor type, and most of our service pages include a before-and-after slider.
