What Laminate Does Well
A laminate board is a photograph of wood or stone pressed onto a dense fibre core and sealed under a hard, clear top layer. That top layer shrugs off scratches and dents, so laminate suits bedrooms, living rooms and busy halls.
Check the AC rating as you compare boards. AC3 covers most homes and AC4 takes more foot traffic. Pick the underpad with the same care, since it decides how the floor feels and sounds. Laminate also comes in herringbone, which costs less than the hardwood version but needs more cuts and a careful layout, so ask to see an installer’s past pattern work.

Can laminate handle water?
Check the box. Most laminate is sold as water-resistant, and that covers a spill you wipe up soon after. Standing water is another matter, so for a basement or laundry room we will point you to vinyl.
How long will the install take?
Most rooms are typically completed in one to three days, depending on size and subfloor. We confirm the dates with you before the crew arrives.
Will you lay laminate I bought myself?
Yes, after we look at it. We turn down boards that won’t last, since our name goes on the work. We can also help you choose, from thicker 12 mm planks to water-resistant ranges. Send your square footage and we will send a free quote.
